Sole, acqua e vento negli scatti di sei fotografi italiani
ABenergie, via Tasca 3, Bergamo (IT)
The exhibition series entitled Photographing Energy. Sun, Water, Wind in the Works by Six Italian Photographers is part of the innovative corporate communications plan of ABenergie, an energy trader. The project turns to the language of digital photography to raise awareness and inform the public about energy from renewable sources. Six young photographers take on the three leading players in the global change currently under way in the field of energy: sun, water and wind are the leitmotifs of three double exhibitions that publicly present the works of two authors face to face. The exhibitions are curated by Marcella Cattaneo, Viola Giacometti and Sara Mazzocchi.
The Photographing Energy project is unique, as it relies exclusively on digital technology. Based on a project by the photographer Luca Volpe, the exhibition represents the first time that all artists present their photos using digital media, replacing traditional prints with LCD technology.
The first rendezvous, curated by Marcella Cattaneo, is devoted to the sun and presents the works of Alvise Vivenza and Luca Volpe, two artists who have been involved in photography for a number of years in Italy and internationally.
Along with the exhibition project, a website – www.fotografarelenergia.it – has also been set up to showcase the exhibition and the works of the featured photographers.
The exhibition opened to the public on 24 May 2010 at the operations centre of ABenergie in Via Tasca 3, Bergamo (Italy). Two other shows will follow in September and December 2010.
